Web Hosting Woes
I am ashamed to admit that my current website is still on a cheap shared hosting package. Today I was reminded that was a mistake as they disabled my service for causing a high server load or in other words having too much traffic.
The service I received over the last day has been shocking. I have used this hosting company for a number of years and recommended them to a few people - five of them I know signed up. It does seems reasonable that if a website is causing performance issues they need to do something about it and if its really that drastic they should be doing it quickly. It does not seem reasonable to not tell the owner of the hosting. I did not however even receive a word of notice when I was cut off. Only to find this out about twelve hours later as I attempted loaded the website in my browser.
Thankfully as I'm taking part in sitesprint I had planned to move my finished website to slicehost and move from my current host. Before today I was moving as I wanted my own VPS to do what I needed and I would still have recommended them to somebody that needed quick, easy and trouble free hosting. Now I certainly wont.
I'm not going to link to them, but the hosting company is Aventure. Google 'aventure host' if you wish to find them.
I have recently been using slicehost1 for my hosting in a number of projects and been very happy with them. Fast, simple
