'Welcome!', A sentiment that I've probably put on this website each time a new version has been released. If I recall correctly over the years I've had a static HTML site, various PHP sites and even a .NET website (that I never really finished to be honest). So how is this website going to be any different from the others?

Now for the first time my website is written in Python and more specifically using Django. It's interesting to note that I've never been as happy with a platform and environment as I've become with python/Django - everything else has left me unsettled.

Essentially this is just a testing post to check that everything works and displays correctly. I'll be following up with a series of posts as my development continues.

I'm taking part in SiteSprint and this website is my entry. Eventually it will replace www.dougalmatthews.com - and hopefully before December the 15th.
